Various work-related happenings in my life.

July, 2003: I've moved to an exciting opportunity to be one of the founders at Purisma. I'll be leading the back-end engineering group. It promises to be a fun place to work. I'll be continuing use of TWiki and Scrum and other bits I learned working at Open Country.

Jan, 2003: I've decided to hang my hat for now at Open Country Inc, as Director of Engineering. I'm building a team that uses a combination "agile software methods" including some aspects of Scrum and Extreme Programming. The company is not funded currently, but I'm learning a lot.

Sep 3, 2002: I've completed my current contract with Active Decisions Inc. I am now looking for the right opportunity either in consulting or by joining a startup or early stage company.

March 12,2002: I've taken a contract programming job with Active Decisions Inc. It is expected to end about June 1 when the project is completed. So I'm still looking for the 'right opportunity' in a funded startup or small company.

Jan 29, 2002: I have set up a discussion and chat board for use by my friends. However, its chat feature only works with netscape, not IE. I set it up mostly to enable chat for people that can't install Yahoo messenger.

Jan 18, 2002: I have set up Functional Knowledge as the name of my consulting and contract programming company.

I've moved StanleyKnutson.com to a real web host in preparation for doing some experiments on knowledge based systems. I've also decided to seek contract work rather than full time work, at least for now. This should give me income as well as freedom to explore some innovative technology for knowledge based systems.

I was laid off from KTI today. This is not a total shock -- they had a layoff in July. I was not expecting to get axed in this round, but hey, I was pretty sure there would be a layoff in December or January.
